Who is/are Barenaked Ladies?

Covered in previous posts. If you’re not willing to go back, try searching Google for ‘Barenaked Ladies‘.

Make sure you spell it correctly…

Why did you buy this album?

It’s the second half of the sessions that produced ‘Barenaked Ladies Are Me‘. As BNL fans, we couldn’t not buy it…

What’s it like?

As it comes from the same writing and recording sessions as ‘Barenaked Ladies Are Me‘, it’s a continuation of the solid, mature pop songwriting found there.

After listening to it now, do you (still) like this album?

Less than ‘…Are Me‘. Some of the songs on here feel like they weren’t included on the previous album for good reason, and I’ve struggled to get through this on occasion. Fortunately, there are enough good songs to offset the odd duff track.

One day I may try listen to both this and ‘…Are Me‘ as a double album, as it was later released this way, and may well work better.

Any stand-out tracks?

Opener ‘Serendipity‘ is nice, though doesn’t necessarily sit well as the opener. ‘Angry People‘ is fun too, and ‘Running Out Of Ink‘ and ‘Fun & Games‘ are growing on me.

Rating out of 10?

8/10. It is a continuation of ‘…Are Me‘ after all…
